1) Be sure to register for Yahoo Groups if you haven't already.

2) If you're looking to advertise products and services, use the search function to look for groups which allow advertising and has your target demographics. 3) Understand that different groups have different advertising guidelines. Find out the guidelines for those that you're interested in before taking it further.

4) For groups which don't allow outright advertising (those that do look like newspaper at times), you can still do promotion via your signature line. Again, much like Yahoo Answers, be sure to contribute to the community at large and you'll do fine otherwise you won't be well received on Yahoo Groups anytime soon.

9) There are mainly 2 types of Yahoo Groups. One more pure advertising purposes and the other type for topic related ones. Use both of them to your advantage. Spend more effort on the topic related ones though because with the advertising groups there are more advertisers than warm prospects.
