Introduction to Squidoo
Squidoo is rapidly gaining massive popularity (at time of writing, they are ranked #738). For those unacquainted with Squidoo (founded in 2004), it's the brainchild of Seth Godin, a great marketing expert online. Once you become a member, you're what they call a Squidoo Lensmaster. From then on, you're free to create lenses on just about any topic you wish. A Squidoo lens is basically a page on the site that pertains to a particular niche or topic.

Some lensmasters have successfully used Squidoo as a income generating platform because it allows them to earn money based on their content and how popular their lens is. Generally speaking, the higher the traffic, the more you should earn.

Ok, without further ado, let's now take a look and discuss how we can ride on Squidoo's success and drive traffic and make some moolah at the same time ... shall we?

Hot Tips and Tricks For Driving Traffic Success with Squidoo:

1. Ok ... first one's a no-brainer and that's to create a content filled lens with helpful and interesting information. Without solid content, no one's gonna stay for long. The more popular your lens is, the more it will be favorited amongst lensmasters and the more viewers and traffic you get. It's that simple.

2. Some are not gonna agree with this but that's normal. But ... go create massive amounts of lenses. The more lenses you create, the greater chance of you capturing your target market. It's the same with article marketing (and everything else!).

3. I love this one ... and that is to get your lenses to be a part of groups on Squidoo. This is how it works ... suppose you've got a lens about taking better golf swings, what you need to do is simply add your lens to a golf-related group. Does this make sense? By doing so, you're again increasing the odds of getting your lens seen by your target audience and that can't hurt, can it?

4. Here you need the help of other lensmasters. Go rank other lenses and humbly ask others to do likewise for your lenses. This will ensure high rankings for your lenses.

5. I thought I'll remind you that Squidoo is one of the top 1000 sites in the world. And a big part of that reason is because they've been extremely successful in helping drive traffic to businesses. Time to drive some traffic to your business I'd say. ;)

6. Make full use of tags (more popularly known as keywords) by tagging your lenses with related keywords or tags. So if you've got a lens on home based businesses, you would do well to add tags like "make money from home", "run a home business", etc.

7. Provide recent and relevant content. Do a bit of mindset marketing with me. If you come across a site with old and useless information, are you ever going to revisit? No way in h***! (Tip: Make your content engaging!)

8. Familiarise yourself with the different Squidoo modules available. These serve to help your Squid pages be extra sticky.

9. Because of Google's liking for Squidoo pages, content tends to get ranked well on Google more easily. Be sure to understand search engine optimization though as the same rules apply.

10. Focus on a particular niche using several carefully chosen words. If you don't know how to do this, stay tuned and check back on the site. Better yet, join the site's newsletter (you can signup by filling in your name and email way at the top) as I'll give members priority when I'm ready with some tutorial on that.

11. Oops ... how can we forget but be sure to also social bookmark your lenses on sites like StumbleUpon and Digg. Too easy. This has to be the best way of getting your lenses indexed and ranked well. Bar none.

12. Interlink your lenses the same way like how pages on TrafficPillar are interlinked to each other. Sweet and sticky.

13. A concept similar to blog commenting except this time you're doing it within Squidoo's realm. Visit other lenses and post a comment or two (again, please make an intelligent and constructive comment).

14. Point #3 bears repeating and that's to have your lenses join groups. Look for relevant and related groups for better results.
