Introduction to Blog Commenting

Blog Commenting is a relatively simple concept that can be explained under 60 seconds if you already know what a blog is and what makes it tick. For the uninformed, blogs are little webpages and websites which normally belong to a single individual. For some, they serve as a point of sales and profits, for others, they serve as a digital diary or journal. The possibilities and variants of blogs are endless.

Getting back to the idea of getting traffic with blog commenting, we want to visit blogs (especially blogs that relate to our niches) and leave a good comment or two.

Here's The Lowdown:

1) Visit your targeted blogs (related niches are better)

2) Read the latest and most popular blog posts

3) Leave an intelligent and insightful comment

Bad Example: "Great Post!"
Good Example: "Thanks John for sharing the method with us. Have you thought about ... ?"

As with any other thing, there are right and wrong ways of going about it ... here are some tips for Blog Commenting :

1) Keep it short and simple (K.I.S.S)

2) Provide a controversial twist whenever possible and feasible. This will cause a slight spike of traffic when done rightly

3) Respect the blog's owner

4) Don't appear spammy or make your comments look like spam

5) Can't find blogs to post on? Try Google's BlogSearch or if you're running blogrush on your blog, use the blogrush links for leads

5) Leave a link back to your site with the proper anchor text (this helps tremendously with seo)

6) Observe proper etiquette

7) Be sure to make comments that are not considered as uncalled for

8) Say a lot more than just "thanks"

9) My latest insight is instead of spending and wasting time chatting with friends on MSN / AIM / Yahoo, why not go make some blog comments?
