Introduction to Article Marketing

Article Marketing (sometimes known as bum marketing) is a type of advertising by writing short articles related to business' respective industry. Once written, the business makes these articles freely available for distribution and publication in the marketplace. Each article contains a 'bio box' and 'by-line' which include references and contact information for the author's business.

Basically in article marketing, made popular especially by internet marketing and Web 2.0, we seek to write articles that are related to what we wish to promote and in so doing, get lots of leads from the warm market.

Thinking Of Doing Article Marketing ... Here Are Some Great Tips:

1) Keep it between 200 and 800 words (in general)

2) Inform and Pre-Sell Your Reader (don't hard sell) and most importantly, give LOTS OF VALUE to whoever is reading your article

3) Create a great title for your article. Copywriting is everything on the internet. If you have great content but a shitty title, no one's gonna read it. But if you have shitty content and a great title ...

4) Fine tune your author bio the same way you need to have a great title for your article. Unattractive, boring, full of credentials sorta author bio will not get too many clicks. Attractive, curious looking, benefit driven types of author bio will get clicks.

5) Tag your article with related keywords and primary keywords

6) Keep the paragraphs short. A good guideline is 3-6 lines per paragraph. Long windy paragraphs don't get read. Period.

7) You don't have to be Shakespeare to write a great article. All you need to do is give value and be entertaining if possible. Give great content. If you can't write (or think you can't write) articles, simply outsource them.

8) Keep cranking out those articles. If anything, quantity is more important than quality (this does not mean to say you sacrifice the quality of your content).

9) Write short articles. Instead of writing 1 * 1000 word article. Consider splitting it up into 2 * 500 word or 3 * 330 word articles.

10) Come across as honest by giving 2 sides to an argument. The good and the bad. The advantages and disadvantages.

11) Give sh*tloads of quality information to your reader

At the end of the day, our sole objective for article marketing (as far as this site goes) is to get as much traffic as possible. Article marketing will work for you only if ... your content is great and your bio is interesting enough to your reader. ;)
